Maricopa County will announce scheduling and location for Phase 1b of the Covid-19 vaccination (which now includes 75+ population) on Monday, January 11, 2021.
Residents are asked to check this website on Monday if they fit the criteria for this Phase.

Due to the increase of virus cases in the area, the Sun City West Visitors Center will close Friday, Dec. 11th until February 26th. The PORA main office will remain OPEN, M-F 9am-3pm.

PORA will implement a Phase 3 Reopening plan in October.  Beginning October 1, 2020 the Membership office will be open M-F 9am-3pm.  The Sun City West Visitors Center will reopen on Oct. 1st M-F 9am-12pm.  A maximum of 4 people at a time in each location will be allowed per Covid safety protocol.
No tours will be schedule and there are no Realtor services at this time.  Face coverings are required in the building.   Notary Services for members will remain by appointment only, M-F 9am-12pm.  Please call 623-584-4288.


August 27, 2020:


PORA will reopen for walk-in services and phone calls on Monday, August 31 and resume regular summer hours of operation: M-F, 9am-1pm.

-A reminder that you must wear a mask when you are in the building and restrooms are not available to the public. Please enter through the main entrance; the Visitor Center door will remain locked.

-Only 4 visitors at a time will be allowed in the Membership Office.
You will be asked to wait  if the office is at capacity.

-Notary services for members are by appointment only, M-F 9am-12pm.

-Travel and tourism information is also available by request.

July 20, 2020:  As of Monday, July 20th PORA will initiate Summer Office Hours until Labor Day.  The Membership Office will be open Mon-Fri, 9am-1:00pm.   We are maintaining COVID19 safety protocol and have added plexiglass to our membership and satellite office desks.  A face covering is required.
Notary services will now be M-F from 9am-12:00pm.  You must already be or become a PORA member to use the service and must call for an appointment.  Notary service  is limited to 5 signatures. ($5 per each additional signature).  A face covering is required.

June 22, 2020:  The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors has released a proclamation requiring face coverings for all public spaces . This affects SCW as an unicorporated community as the community is under County purview.    Please read the proclamation here

Phase 2 of Reopening

As we come together as a community during these unprecedented times, PORA remains poised to support Sun City West. We are pleased to announce the second phase of our reopening plan.

Our priority continues to be protecting the health of our residents while evaluating needs and priorities. We are working to implement services and resources and provide the most accurate and best communication available.

As an organization we look to the Board of Directors to help best decide the ever-changing path to opening.

Below are the guidelines for PORA’s Phase 2 of Reopening.

This overview will evolve as time progresses. Each phase of PORA’s reopening will consider the most stringent of safety protocol.

As of Tuesday, May 26th:

1) The Membership Office will open to walk-in traffic Monday through Friday, 9am-2:30pm. You may visit the Office for membership sign-up and renewal or for vendor information.

-We ask that you call or email with simple, general questions to limit people in the building. Our office has been modified to reflect social distancing. No congregating or social seating will be allowed.

-We will limit the number of people in the office to 4 members at a time. You will be asked to wait outside if you arrive and the limit has been met. Outside seating will be provided. Masks are highly recommended and will be provided if needed. There will be no public bathrooms available.

2) Notary Services are by appointment only. Please call 623-584-4288. You must currently be or become a PORA member to use this complimentary service.

3) The Visitors Center will remain closed. If you need tourism or community information please call 623 584 4288 to arrange curbside pickup of brochures or maps.

4) If you are a PORA vendor or want to enroll as a vendor, please contact Tracy McGuire at 623-584-4288 X 414 to make an appointment.

5) No events, committee meetings or rentals are being scheduled.

-BINGO will not be scheduled until further notice.

PORA Reopening Information-Phase I

We are looking forward to interacting with you in the safest way possible.

***PORA has been thoroughly supporting Sun City West throughout the COVID-19 emergency. Many staff have been working from home and we have been using all our media channels to communicate the latest information to residents.

PORA staff will slowly return to the building as of Monday, May 11 and will be available by phone only. In accordance with CDC and county guidelines, no foot traffic will be allowed in the building until further notice.

For guidance on reopening PORA to foot traffic we will look to the Governor and/or the SCW Recreation Center schedule, whichever is more stringent.
